Examinations

Students are prepared for both practical and theory examinations. Most pupils are encouraged to work for such examinations but they may not by appropriate for all students.

Excellent results have been achieved by present and past students in the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music examinations in piano playing. Since 1993 eleven students have passed Grade 8, of which six gained Distinctions including four with marks ranging between 136 and 140 (out of 150), and two students passed with Merits.' Since 1991 there has been 100% Pass rate in all Grades from 1 - 8 in every year except 1997.
